Fed: New Federal Court judge appointed

CANBERRA, Aug 15 AAP - Freehills law firm partner Margaret Stone was today appointed
a judge of the Federal Court of Australia.

Federal Attorney-General Daryl Williams said that Ms Stone had been a Freehills partner
since 1993 and was also a part-time professor of law at the University of New South Wales.

She has taught property, equity, contracts, trusts, torts, commercial litigation, legal
theory, appellate judicial process and federal constitutional law.

At Freehills Ms Stone practises mainly in property, contracts, trusts, equity and native title.

Based in Sydney, she will take up her appointment on October 9.
