NSW: Sydney Foreshore Authority under scrutiny

Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority is being investigated amid claims that it's been
overriding councils and is pro-development.

A parliamentary inquiry will investigate the management of the authority after concerns
from the Greens about the role of the authority chairman, executives and board.

It follows the release of internal authority emails which show the proposed 14-storey
office building development behind North Sydney's Luna Park is prohibited.

The February emails also recommend advising developer METRO EDGLEY that Infrastructure
and Planning Minister CRAIG KNOWLES could overrule the regulations.

Earlier this week MR KNOWLES gave the green light to a new process to end confusion
about who controls the Luna Park site and ensure there is sensitive and appropriate development.
